In this offering, clinical herbalist Lara Pacheco & full spectrum doula Samantha Zipporah will share their knowledge of herbal allies, nutrition, & lifestyle choices to help support the bleeding woman’s body in replenishing itself. The suggestions & options explored can be effective in both prevention & healing of iron deficiency or anemia.

The workshop will include:

*Herbal & nutritional options to avoid & heal anemia & iron deficiency

*Herbal iron Syrup Medicine Making Demonstration

*Insights into discerning the meaning of color, consistency, & flow of your menstrual or postpartum bleeding (postpartum includes full spectrum of pregnancy experiences: birth, abortion, or miscarriage)

Lara Pacheco is a clinical herbalist who runs Seed and Thistle Apothecary LLC, which is a monthly subscription of seasonally based herbal preparations that include a customized apothecary that matches specific plant medicine to a person's specific health picture. She offers consultations, support for women's health, and as a Latina she is currently collecting oral histories from Latina Curanderas in the Portland community.

Samantha Zipporah is a full spectrum doula & holistic sexual health educator. She believes the mind, body, & spirit connection deserve reverence & respect. Sam finds great inspiration from the places that science & spirituality fortify one another. The roots of her studies are in traditional midwifery “womb to tomb” style care. Her approach is grounded by a solid understanding of biochemistry & biology, & is nourished by playfulness, sass, & reverent spirituality.
